Dinner At Camp Is A System Not A Scramble

CAJJIA EVENFALL OUTDOOR SERVICES LLC is a professional expedition systems studio working from 1060 Sherwood Dr in Ogden, Utah, where we design, assemble and certify the equipment and field kitchen rigs that feed and shelter trail groups far from the trailhead. We treat every stove, kettle, lantern and gear crate as one integrated programme rather than a pile of loose purchases. Our team plans the load, verifies the gear and hands over a rig that a group leader can run confidently on the first cold evening.

Six Pack Stations On The Evenfall Check Sheet

Every programme we ship passes through six pack stations, each one a checkpoint that keeps a field kitchen honest. The weight label beside each cord line shows how loaded that station is when a full expedition rig leaves our Ogden workshop.

Expedition Equipment Outfitting

We begin by matching a group to a complete equipment envelope, from sleeping platforms and pack frames to weather shells and navigation kits. Rather than selling single items, our outfitting service builds a closed list where every piece has a named role, a storage position and a repair path. The result is a rig that a leader can inventory in minutes.

Field Kitchen Systems

A field kitchen is an engineered assembly, so we lay out burners, wind screens, fuel lines and prep surfaces as one working circuit. Our designers calculate cooking throughput against group size and cold-weather losses, then specify a kettle, pan and utensil set that nests without wasted volume. See the full kitchen programme on the services page.

Trail Programme Planning

Programme planning turns a route into a daily operating rhythm with resupply points, rest windows and meal blocks that match the terrain. We model each day against daylight, elevation gain and pack weight so that dinner happens before the group runs out of energy. The plan is delivered as a working document that leaders can adjust on the trail.

Gear Inspection and Certification

Inspection is the station where trust is earned, and our technicians test every stove, harness, rope and lantern against published tolerance limits. Failed items are quarantined with a written defect note, and passing items receive a dated certification tag that travels with the kit. Groups can request a re-inspection cycle whenever equipment returns.

Group Camp Logistics

Camp logistics coordinates transport, crate sequencing and campsite layout so that unloading follows a predictable order. We build a loading diagram that places the kitchen crate and shelter kit at the hatch, which shortens the walk between vehicle and cooking area. This service also covers waste handling, water resupply and evening lighting plans.

Equipment Lifecycle Management

Lifecycle management tracks each asset from purchase through service to retirement so that no group inherits a mystery stove or an expired fuel canister. We maintain service intervals, spare-part kits and replacement forecasts for the whole inventory. The outcome is fewer surprise failures and a clear budget path for the seasons ahead.

Why A Systems Studio Instead Of A Gear Shop

Most outdoor groups assemble equipment one purchase at a time, which is why so many camps begin with a search through six crates for a missing burner. CAJJIA EVENFALL OUTDOOR SERVICES LLC was formed to close that gap by treating the camp as an integrated system with defined inputs, verified assets and a repeatable evening routine. Our designers come from field logistics and industrial design, and we apply the same discipline to a six-person research team that we apply to a sixty-person base camp.

The phrase dinner at camp is a system not a scramble is our working thesis. When the kitchen rig hangs from a tripod frame, when the kettle and pans have fixed hooks, and when the lantern chain is already in place, the cook can focus on food instead of improvisation. That reliability is what we sell, and it is measured in minutes saved at dusk.

How An Engagement Begins

A typical engagement starts with a discovery call where we map group size, terrain, season length and cooking expectations. We then produce a programme outline that names each service we recommend, from expedition equipment outfitting through equipment lifecycle management. Once the outline is approved, our workshop stages a dry rig so the client can see the pack layout before a single item is shipped.

After the dry rig is signed off, we move into inspection, certification and delivery, then remain available for service cycles across the season. Clients keep a single point of contact at our Sherwood Dr office for the life of the programme.

Built Around The Evening Hour

We name the company Evenfall because the most demanding hour at camp is the one just after sunset, when light drops, temperature falls and appetites rise all at once. Every design decision we make is tested against that hour. The chain-hung lantern sits at working height, the stove plateau keeps a small fire glow strip visible for orientation, and the utensil rail keeps tools off the ground where they cannot be found in the dark.

Because the evening hour is unforgiving, our field kitchen systems include redundancy for the two failures that end dinners, which are clogged burners and lost ignition tools. Every rig ships with a spare jet set, a mechanical lighter and a printed lighting sequence that any group member can follow.

Programme Snapshot

Groups that adopt the full Evenfall programme typically run six services together: expedition equipment outfitting, field kitchen systems, trail programme planning, gear inspection and certification, group camp logistics and equipment lifecycle management. Taking all six means a single checklist, a single certification register and a single service calendar for the season.

Smaller groups often begin with field kitchen systems and gear inspection, then add logistics once the season lengthens. We are happy to phase a programme across several months.

Field Practices We Hold To

Preparation Discipline

  • Every crate carries a printed manifest and a matching photograph.
  • Every burner is lit and run for ten minutes before it leaves the workshop.
  • Every certification tag records the date and the technician.
  • Every programme ships with a spare-parts pouch matched to its rig.

Field Conduct

  • Cooking surfaces stay clear of tent lines and dry grass.
  • Fuel canisters are stored downwind and away from sleeping areas.
  • Lantern chains are anchored so they cannot swing into a stove.
  • Waste and grey water follow the leave-no-trace pattern for the region.
